API Autoquotes

For MPL, the At-Bay API autoquotes up to $2M in aggregate limits for companies up to $50M in annual revenue. Referrals are supported for companies up to $100M in annual revenue.

Requesting an MPL Quote

POST/quotes endpoint summary

To request an MPL quote, use the POST/quotes endpoint, which is the same endpoint used to obtain Cyber and Tech E&O quotes. The POST/quotes endpoint has three main pieces, all of which are required to obtain a quote:

1. Client object
2. Policy object
3. Question object

The client object

• “Broker_email”: Broker of record’s email. Must be an At-Bay appointed broker and exist/registered with At-Bay. To request to add new brokers, please provide their info in At-Bay's online form.
• “Domains”: can provide 1 or many domains, but is optional for MPL
• “Revenue” Revenue up to $100M
• “Industry”: must be in the form of 6 digit NAICS, but is optional for MPL
• “Address”: must be a Google-validated address. Please use the “street2” field to add additional address information, like apartment number. Currently unable to accept submissions for PO boxes.

The policy object

• “Insurance_product”: Define the product and options requested.
• “Quotes”: Can optionally include an effective date as “effective_date”. Note, as of September, At-Bay has implemented a limit on the number of options per POST/quote request to 15.
• Note: MPL requires a per_claim_retention, which is different than Cyber and Tech E&O’s aggregate_retention

The question object

Provide required answers to At-Bay’s MPL questionnaire. Required questions will vary based on revenue and the service(s) selected. See the following section for full information on question IDs and required values for all MPL services.

Binding an MPL Quote

Binding utilizes the same POST/bind endpoint as used for both Cyber and Tech E&O. Prior to binding, please provide necessary documentation to close outstanding contingencies using the POST/document endpoint.

• “Quote_identifier”: the unique quote identifier for the option to be bound
• “Effective_date:” effective date of the policy. Can be backdated up to 7 days before the current date.
• “Expiration_date”: At-Bay supports policy periods ranging from 6 months to 18 months.
  “mpl_retroactive_date”:
  • If YES to question ID “needed_retro_date”, can equal “full_prior_acts” OR a date before the effective date.
  • If NO to question ID “needed_retro_date”, mpl_retroactive_date field must be equal to the effective date.
• “Attestation”: if a manually or e-signed At-Bay application is sent to At-Bay using the POST/document endpoint, the appointed broker can attest to the validity of the questionnaire answers and the providing of necessary insured contact information. Attesting to the signed application will expedite the policy issuance process.
